I love Diet Cola. I know- not the greatest thing for me, but listen to this example from my guilty pleasure. I was sitting with a client once with my Diet Cola can on the table between us. She was having difficulty seeing things from her husband’s perspective. I picked up the can and said, “Describe what you see on the can for me.

You step up to the microphone, the front of the boardroom or that unpleasant phone call you need to make and your heart rate elevates to an almost unbearable rhythm. You can feel the blood flow out of your brain and the room starts to get blurry.

This blog post discusses the “ME Model”. This is a model that I have been working on for years from my work and observations at CAFA. We have been covering this Model in our Marriage Class, but it has great application for individuals in any stage of life as they understand their sense of self and how they react to events in life.

Everyone experiences anxiety from time to time. It’s normal to get symptoms like butterflies, heart palpitations or shortness of breath. Our bodies have a built in fight, flight, or freeze response to danger.

Probably the greatest desire of my life, especially in these later years is to help create a safer place for children here in Lane County. But how do we do that?
